CAE Blue Phantom Thoracentesis and Thoracostomy Ultrasound Training Model

This half-chest model is a half torso in the lateral decubitus position. The patented Simulex^™ insert is ideal for learning image acquisition and interpretation, and practicing the psychomotor skills necessary for ultrasound-guided needle and catheter insertions in a patient with pleural effusions. This model was designed with replaceable anterior and lateral portals to help students learn chest tube thoracostomy. The Simulex^™ tissue has self-healing properties, allowing for 1000+ punctures when used with 18-21 gauge needles.

*Note: the lateral and anterior portals are not ultrasoundable, and should be replaced every 10-15 uses.
