When caring for a young child, communication skills are as critical as the technical skills required to manage pediatric emergencies. Arthur is a pediatric patient simulator, designed to support students and those working in child healthcare. Arthur helps learners to effectively communicate, assess, diagnose, and treat young patients in a diverse range of critical scenarios and in a variety of clinical settings.

Arthur represents a 5–8-year-old boy that simulates a wide range of conditions. From a healthy, talking child to being unresponsive with no vital signs, Arthur provides meaningful learning experiences through its extensive scope of capabilities.

SOFTWARE

The user-friendly software solutions behind the Arthur simulator platform make it easy, flexible, and reliable.

  • Simulations can be created on the fly, capturing unique learning moments as the scenario unfolds
  • Instructors can also create and standardize their own patient cases to meet specific learning objectives
  • Arthur also includes a range of pre-programmed patient states and scenarios of typical pediatric cases to help get your simulations up and running quickly

Scenario Builder

Highly flexible in its operation, MedVision's intuitive scenario builder software enables instructors to easily create simple to more complex patient cases through its touchscreen drag-and-drop functionality.

HARDWARE

Instructor Tablet

The Instructor Tablet's touchscreen makes navigation between windows and menus a seamless experience. The intuitive user interface enables the instructor to create on-the-fly simulations or run complex scenarios.

Tablet functionality includes:

  • Automated and manual scenario modes
  • Easy selection of patient states and themes
  • Synchronized vital signs with the patient monitor
  • Slider controls for nuanced changes to the patient's condition

Patient Monitor

The touchscreen patient monitor displays vital signs with a familiar look and functionality typical of its real counterparts.

  • Fully customizable
  • Operator can select and display vital signs appropriate to the patient’s clinical case
  • Real-time CPR performance display, which can be employed during cardiac arrest scenarios
  • Feedback on CPR quality: rate, depth, release, and ventilation; supports compliance with guidelines

Debrief Viewer

The debrief is arguably the most important element of a simulation exercise. The debrief viewer provides many useful features for thorough performance evaluation.

  • Debrief software provides the instructor with excellent operational flexibility
  • Review the session from start to finish or jump to time-stamped events
  • Easily find and access meaningful moments within the simulation with full patient data
  • CPR performance metrics are also available at the touch of a button
  • The integrated action log captures all trainee records and performance data
